Hoya linearis is a graceful trailing plant with thin, soft leaves that hang in long curtains. It is a favourite among collectors for its unusual look and sweet vanilla-scented flowers.

Light
Give Hoya linearis bright, indirect light. East or west windows work well, and a little morning sun helps flowering. Too little light makes the vines thin and sparse.
Watering
Let the soil dry in the top few centimetres before watering. Linearis dislikes soggy roots, but its thin leaves also show thirst quickly, so keep the routine regular.
Humidity
This Hoya enjoys higher humidity than many relatives, around 50 to 60 percent. Placing it in a bright bathroom or kitchen can help.
Pot and soil
Use a hanging pot with drainage holes and an airy mix of bark, perlite and potting soil. Slightly root-bound plants flower best.

Flowers
Mature plants produce small, white, fragrant flowers. Do not remove the peduncle after blooming.
Propagation
Take several vine pieces with nodes and root them together in sphagnum moss for a fuller plant.
